A Bit About Me
I was born in Düsseldorf, Germany, and immigrated to the United States in 1954. I had a degree in business and pursued employment in marketing/merchandising in Binghamton and Brooklyn, NY, and eventually in Detroit, Michigan.
In 1965, while still living in Detroit, I decided to return to academic studies. My BA and MA are in comparative literatures English/German. I switched at the PhD level to the Wayne State University Medical School and received my terminal degree in Audiology in 1974. I retired from the University of Northern Iowa in 1999, having taught subjects related to Audiology, including sign language.
I discovered that there was life after academia and pursued my interests in painting and writing ever since. While I belonged to a couple of writing groups through the years, joining the Writers’ Forum in Green Valley in 2016 was one of the best decisions I ever made. My first novel, The Blue Sapphire Amulet, was published in 2018. Over the course of six years I’ve published twelve books and am currently working on my thirteenth novel, The Merchant of Texas, publication expected in early 2025.
